Dumplings.

Just got back from celebrating Lunar New Year in Hong Kong and Macau. My mad craving for dumplings was fulfilled whenever possible. Luckily, we did lots of walking and it helped make more room in my tummy for more dumplings. We were able to see many of the things Hong Kong and Macau had to offer.

Day 1: New Year's Day was spent eating good food and visiting the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery in Sha Tin, Hong Kong. We also dropped by Victoria Harbor to see the skyline of Hong Kong.

Look at that soup dumpling.

Stinky tofu and I were never meant to be. I really tried to enjoy it, but it didn't work out.

Each statue is completely different from each other.

Not sure what this statue represented. It's a bit morbid and I like it.

Day 2: Started the morning with a Hong Kong Style Breakfast. YUMMMMSSS. Went to Central Hong Kong to see Victoria Peak and walked around. Missed the fireworks, because the peak was too misty at night to see anything below. Got our fortunes read at Man Mo Temple. The man said that a promotion is in sight, as along as I do not change my work place. Hmmm...

Typical Hong Kong Style Breakfast. The macaroni soup was a favourite.

There are signs everywhere in Hong Kong about disinfecting things. Glad to know Hong Kong is "germ-free".

More paper cups should come with a handle.
Day 3: I woke up really early every day and walked around the area of our apartment. We were staying in Mong Kok and the surroundings reminded me of the movies my parents used to watch when I was little.

All the scaffolding in Hong Kong is done using bamboo sticks and not metal. It's amazing how these are set up.

Day 4: Trip to Macau. The ferry from Hong Kong to Macau was about one hour and the ride wasn't too bumpy. It was a bummer that the weather wasn't cooperating. The rain made it hard to go see the Portuguese community and eat egg tarts. We did some gambling to make up for it. No jackpot winnings but we had enough winnings for ice cream.

Day 5: Did a bit of market shopping and watched the Kingsman to pass time. Our flight back to Busan was at 2:00 am and we needed to kill some time. The movie wasn't too bad or as cheesy as I thought it would have been.

There were other things we saw in Hong Kong, but I totally forgot to take pictures of or we were not allowed to. The trip was a nice break and I don't want to head back to work tomorrow. I just want to stay in Hong Kong and eat dumplings.
